Simple Ways to Avoid Skin Cancer
Now that the weather is warming up outside, it’s crucial to know how to stay safe in the sun and skin and any other sun damaging diseases. Remember if you notice a suspicious spot or any change in your skin, it’s important to go to a dermatologist as soon as possible.
Try to always seek shade whenever you can. If you sit in the shade you can reduce your exposure to the sun’s harmful rays. If you are planning to spend your day at the beach bring an umbrella or a tent. It is also extremely important to always wear sunglasses since the area around your eyes are very sensitive. Always try to cover up your whole body. Even if it is very hot outside in the summer try to wear a light clothing all your body, especially your arms and legs.
The best way to avoid skin cancer is to ALWAYS wear sunscreen, even if it is cloudy outside. There is still sun-rays that can cause damage to your skin. You should choose SPF 30 for everyday use and if you are planning to stay outside for a long period of time you should switch up your sunscreen to SPF 50. Use water resistant sunscreen if you plan to stay at the beach or go to a pool. Also sometimes we forget but it’s important to keep reapplying your sunscreen in order to achieve the highest protection. Wearing a hat can protect your face, ears, skin, and neck from the sun’s harmful rays. It offers shade to many areas as well as protecting your eyes. Always remember to also apply sunscreen when you are wearing a hat as well.
In addition, in most places the sun tends to be at it’s highest peak during the hours of 10 am and 3 pm. If it’s possible to limit your exposure during those times it will reduce your skin’s exposure from UVA and UVB rays. Also, there are many specific foods that are loaded with nutrients that can keep your skin looking healthy and great. This includes Vitamin A which can be found in many fruits and vegetables, and Vitamin E which can be found in sunflower seeds. You always want to keep eating foods that are rich with antioxidants because they fight free radicals that can lead to skin cancer. Certain foods are loaded with nutrients that your skin needs to stay healthy and looking great. That includes Vitamin A, which is found in many fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants are found in tea, vegetables, fruits and even chocolate!
If you really want your skin to keep looking great it is best if you completely avoid any indoor tanning. Indoor tanning exposes customers to harmful UVA and UVB rays. People who begin tanning younger than 35 years old may have over 50% risk of having melanoma. Tannings beds can increase wrinkles, eye damage and can even change the texture of your skin. Try self-tanners, or bronzers if you want a natural glowing look that will not hurt your skin. Overall, many people underestimate the power of the sun. Many of these diseases are very painful and even life-threatening so the best way to avoid this is by reducing your risks of being in the sun or at least always remember to wear sunscreen protection.

Simple Ways to get Beautiful Hair and Skin all year round
Firstly, if drugstore products are not helping or even making your skin worse. You should consider seeking a specialist such as a dermatologist or esthetician. When you see a specialist she can figure out what skin type you have, and give you advice on what skin care you should be using.
Secondly, it’s important to moisturize everyday. Your moisturizer should be “oil based” rather than “water based” because the oil creates a protective layer that retains more moisture. You should always remember that not all lotions will work on your face. You may want to think twice about using a body lotion for your face because it can make you break out. Always looking for moisturizers that are hypoallergenic and non-clogging. Also, you should be using your sunscreen all year round. Winter sun can be damaging for your skin too. You should apply sunscreen to your skin 30 minutes before you go outside and keep reapplying if you are going to stay outside.
Furthermore, if your skin feels very dry you should avoid using harsh peels, masks, and alcohol-based toners or astringents. All of this can strip necessary oil from your skin. Also, showering for too long in steaming hot water can also dry out your skin. You should stick to taking a 10-minute or less shower with lukewarm water.
Thirdly, what you eat is vital for your skin. The next time you take a trip to the grocery store, you should fill up a cart with foods that are filled with mono saturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids, such as fish, nuts, olive oil, flax or avocados. Vitamin C is also important for the body’s production of collagen so you should consider picking up citrus fruits or dark leafy greens.
In addition, hair can become extremely damaged during the winter. Shampooing strips vital oils from the scale, so its recommended to wash your hair every other day. To prevent further damage or breakage, avoid blow drying or brushing hair when its wet. When your hair is wet it’s extremely delicate and you will have to use a lot of heat in order to dry it. If your hair feels extremely dry you should consider using argan oil as well.
Lastly, stress can make skin more sensitive and can cause acne breakouts. It’s important to manage your stress by setting reasonable goals, and taking time to do the thins you enjoy.
Overall, following these tips can help keep your skin beautiful and glowing all year round. As well as healthy and bouncy hair so that you do not have to get as many haircuts throughout the year.

DIY Pamper Treatments for Summer
Pampering4life
is all about pampering every aspect of your life, mind, body, and soul. I
understand it may be hard to truly indulge in every facet due to time or money
constraints so I want to introduce you to simple DIY pamper treatments that can
do wonders for all three aspects that we promise to improve!
The first step of the treatment is a scrub because we all
know at a spa you are usually being rubbed down with some lavish exfoliating
scrub! Not only do these types of scrubs get rid of that dry, rough, scaly skin
but it helps to awaken your senses, open up your pores, and get them ready to
absorb the rest of the nutrients you will be adding to your skin throughout the
next pampering treatment.
Here is a simple recipe for a DIY scrub:
·
2 cups of raw Sugar
·
1 cup of Coffee
·
½ cup of finely ground Coconut
·
2 cups of Coconut Oil
Once you have all your ingredients collected you then:
·
Mix all of your ingredients together in a big
bowl
·
Stir until evenly combined
·
Scoop into a clean glass jar
·
Take a big scoop and spread onto rough areas
such as legs, arms, stomach, elbows, knees, shoulders, feet, and even your back
·
Rub the scrub into your skin firmly
·
After two minutes of scrubbing rinse off
This scrub is an extremely effective way to exfoliate the
skin and the Coconut Oil will act as a natural moisturizer in the process. The
ingredient coffee helps increase blood circulation and can actually fade that
unsightly cellulite!

You may feel oily after this first step but you can fix this
by soaking in a large tub with hot water. Add your favorite essential oils such
as lavender or jasmine and soak away all your worries. The next step of the DIY
Pamper is the moisturizer to seal in all the nutrients just infused into your
skin! You could grab some Coconut Oil and Vitamin E Oil and follow these steps:
·
In a medium bowl add 1 cup Extra Virgin Coconut
Oil with 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
·
Using a hand mixer whip you ingredients together
in a bowl
·
Continue to mix for about 7-8 minutes or until
you have a creamy consistency
·
Pour your mixture into a clean glass jar
·

it all over your body!

Exfoliate and Revitalize Your Skin
Achieving great looking skin isn't necessarily that hard. You do have to know what to do (and what not to do) for good skin care. While most people understand the importance of hydration, sunscreen and cleansing, they often overlook exfoliation in their skin care regimen. Exfoliation can help bring out a fresh, youthful look to your skin and will help prevent blemishes. The key is to perform the exfoliation properly.
The very outer layer of your skin is actually dead skin cells. Your skin creates new cells underneath and the old ones on the surface slough off on their own. This occurs each and every day, whether you notice it or not. Sometimes this dead layer will build up on the surface of your skin and you will notice your skin has a dull look to it. You may also find you are more prone to blemishes, if the dead skin cells clog your pores. Getting rid of these skin cells will promote healthy skin. To exfoliate, you can choose one of these methods: chemical or abrasive. Chemical exfoliants usually contain some form of mild acid, such as alpha hydroxy or salicylic acid. The acids work to slough off the dead skin cells. These actually come in different strengths and can be applied on their own, or in conjunction with an abrasive exfoliant.
Abrasive exfoliants are creams or liquid cleansers that contain particulate matter, such as ground botanicals, jojoba beads or groundnuts. The use of the abrasive will physically remove the dead skin cells. The particulate matter can come in many different sizes and the type you choose will depend upon the application. You don't want to use the same abrasive on your face that you would use to exfoliate your feet.
Start your exfoliation with clean skin. Wet the skin with warm water and apply the exfoliant. Rub gently in circles with your fingers or a facial sponge, avoiding the under eye area, as this skin is too delicate for exfoliation. Rinse with warm water and pat your skin dry. Apply a toner to help balance the pH of your newly exposed skin cells. Follow this with a moisturizer. Your skin may tingle for fifteen minutes or so after the application, especially for your first couple of times. After that, your skin will become used to it. With the chemical exfoliants, discontinue their use if your skin burns too much after application. Exfoliation only needs to be done once or twice a week. Since you have exposed new skin cells to the surface, it is very important that you use a sunscreen if you will be outdoors.
As we age the process of cell turnover slows down. Cells start to pile up unevenly on the skin's surface, giving it a dry, rough, dull appearance. Exfoliation is beneficial because it removes those cells that are clinging on, revealing the fresher, younger skin cells below.
It is possible, however, to overexfoliate, especially on the delicate skin of the face. Overexfoliating will dry and irritate the skin.

Why Is Exfoliation Important?
The skin is constantly generating new skin cells at the lower layer (the dermis) and sending them to the surface (the epidermis). As the cells rise to the surface they gradually die and become filled with keratin. These keratinized skin cells are essential because they give our skin its protective quality. But they are constantly sloughing off to make way for younger cells.
- You can use a body scrub once or twice a week with no problem.
- Body brushing every morning is a gentle way to exfoliate -- and wake up!
